On my 84 turbo brat, Im swaping out pedals for the 5sp d/r but I noticed that it has some sort of WOT switch. Is that for the boost or something. Do I need to keep that switch?

Probably electric "kickdown" for an automatic trans. You shouldn't need it for a 5 speed.

yes, it's a kickdown switch. Tells the transmission that you've got the pedal floored, so it shifts down to the lowest possible gear, and runs it very high in rpm. My 3eat ran the gears to 5500rpm before it would shift. I just switched mine to a 5speed d/r, and it isn't needed.

I asked father n law what he thought after I posted and thats what he said too. Was a kickdown switch.
