Strange rear end noise at take off

Featured Replies

2001 Outback wagon,automatic,3.0,VDC. I can feel a sound through the floor of car like a draging or slipping from the right rear wheel at a slow take off when turning left out into traffic. Could this be a bad rear cv or drive shaft, or rear axel slipping ?? Tires are not low, have not been under car yet to check anything else. Anyone here had this problem before ??? thanks

If it were me, I would pull the road wheel off and make a good inspection of brakes and suspension parts. My wife's car was making noise something like that, it turned out to be a worn out brake pad on the right rear wheel. Look around for any loose suspension parts. Seems like Subies wear out CV half shafts on the front with broken boots, but not so likely on the rear.
