After swapping out two injectors I fired up the engine. When I shut it down I noticed a electrical crackling sound and traced ti to this piece;

 

 

I could not find my book and am not sure what it is. Could someone enlighten me?

the mechanism inside has moving plastic parts that over time wear a groove into and they can stick, malfunction, act up sporadically. If the groove is bad, temp can play a role into it sticking more, plastic does expand some as it heats up. If its is bad or acting up, best to replace with low mileage or new unit.
