EA81 skidpan/brush bar (?) on an Impreza (pics)

Featured Replies

I've been looking into skid plates, want to do something more "serious" down the line but didn't want to spend the money right now.

So I was at Pick'n'pull today and found a '83 GL wagon with a cool little chrome brush bar and an intact skidpan that I figured I'd try on my Impreza...

Turns out they worked like a charm icon_smile.gif Just took drilling some new holes for the front, but the rear holes at the subframe fit just perfect:

This is the model of scoob it came off of:

or on a 94 legacy sport....i never thought about the chrome bar, i have some of those laying around too.

I used existing holes in the car in all 5 mount locations, had to drill 3 holes in the front of the skid, and bend it a little more in a vice to curve the front up.

I just did that with my 92 lego wagon last week. Works like a charm! It came pretty close to my oil pan though because I have the larger 2.5 on on it.

Ya, it does work well. I didn't drill the chassis though, just the pan/bar. I might "expand" the pan to the sides with a couple extra pieces too, shouldn't be too hard.
