+1 on the prestone, don't forget after you full it to burp the air out.

Being its a 2000 phase 2 EJ25, you may want to toss a bottle of subaru "coolant conditioner" in after you finish flushing the cooling system. It seals the headgaskets as they start to leak.

I thought we all had to use the "Subaru additive" Is this not an issue for my 3.0? Just for the 2.5 with the head gasket issues?

I never heard of a 3.0L having head gasket issues..

 

having said that given the 3.0 is a larger bore how come they don't have issues since people complain saying the 2.5 has it because of the larger displacement..
