I have always wanted to ask what this is?

This is a pretty good trivia question....

I think of this part as

"gas line appendix"

looks like they made this part and didn't

know what to do with it so they put it there.

Personally, to me it looks like it serves very little purpose

thus, "gasline appendix"

You may already know what I am talking about...

they are in the gas line...... they are metal and

they are the first thing to rot out in the fuel system

thus, need to be removed.... but not replaced.....

again..... "the gas line appendix".

I think there are two of these perhaps in the fuel line

one is right off of the electic fuel pump... 6 " up the line.

So I would like to know what the name of this part is

and what is its purpose????????

If I need to say more about this part please don't hessitate

to ask.... oh, and it is on a subie loyale...... 91,,,, 93 has them

too...

thanks

I know exactly what you're talking about.

Sadly, I can't remember whether they were check valves or dampers, but they are definitely one of those two things. In fact, it almost seems like there are three of them in the system and two were one thing and one was the other.

I doubt I could get much more vague if I tried, but hopefully that helps.

Yeah, they are strange things......

they are on the feed and return.... I also noticed

two of them up near the throttle body.....

yeah, like your saying maybe vapor dampers.......

DO you think that they are really necessary?????

mine rotted out...................

WHen you look through them they just look like a

piece of tubing all the way through.........
