Dealer complaint, not wanting to detail.

Simple thing, you decide. I called the local dealer:

 

"Hi, I need a clockspring for a 99 Forester."

"Do you have the VIN?"

"Uh, no."

"Has the car ever been serviced here?"

"No."

"Well, I'll do what I can."

5 minute wait.

 

Go out and get the vin # if you dont want to wait.
