leaky oil pan

Featured Replies

Looks like the oil pan is leaking on my 99 obw 2.5. When I did the head gaskets, I took off the pan, glassbeaded it, primed and painted it. Now its leaking where the lipstick goes into it. Can this be repaired or do I need a pan? I have seen pans on eBay, anyone use these?

Did you replace the dipstick O-rings?

Did you use RTV or a gasket?

Did you check the pan for dents or over tightened bolts and straighten them out.

I have good pans if yo need one.

It is a pinhole leak. At the dipstick weld. Everything else is tight.

Clean the area super good with gasoline or rubbing alcohol on a rag. Dry thoroughly, then seal up the area with JB Weld. Let set over night before driving the car for JB to dry. JB should fix this easily.

Yep, JB weld should do the trick.

If you want a new pan I have some good ones.

$50 shipped.
