So I found some pictures of another '94 GT with the GT wheels repainted. This time, they have been painted black.

 

They look better than I expected when they are clean, but I definitely don't like the look once they get dirty.

 

So, while I wasn't planning on it anyway, this pretty much confirms that my wheels will NOT be painted black.
