Featured Replies

1996 Legacy Outback (2.5)

After car went into limp mode, the following transmission codes we identified:

13

14

24

Now what?

Besides a dealer does anyone know of a Subaru specialist in MA?

According to a post on this site, codes are as follows:

Trouble Code

11) Duty solenoid A

12) Duty solenoid B

13) Shift solenoid 3

14) Shift solenoid 2

15) Shift solenoid 1

21) ATF temperature sensor

22) Mass air flow signal

23) Engine speed sensor

24) Duty solenoid C

25) Torque control signal

31) Throttle position sensor

32) Vehicle speed sensor 1

33) Vehicle speed sensor 2

you haven't given any information to go on. we're good, but not magicians. in general it is almost impossible for all of those parts to fail at one time. so this suggest something else....

1. how many miles?

2. has the fluid ever been changed?

more diagnostic related stuff:

3. is the transmission pan dented or compromised at all?

4. has the transmission ever been worked on before?

5. has the trans pan ever been removed before?

how long have you driven it? has it always worked perfectly and then one day this happened? how is it currently driving?

Thanks for responding!

Car has 170k I've had it 2 years and it was driving without any shifting problems.

I recently had passenger side CV joint replaced and it was very difficult to remove. A lot of banging, etc...

Have not had any tranny work done

Fluid has not been changed, but it's full (I always check) and is not discolored and does not smell burnt.

Inspection on lift showed no dents and connections looked fine.

disconnect, check, and reconnect the transmission connector. it's on the passengers side top of the engine below the air intake stuff.

how is it running and driving?
