its a 90 loyale wagon with the ea82, just finished doing the LIM gaskets, new coolant hoses. new radiator and a new manifold. when I'm driving the car there is times when I try to get on it stumbles or hesitates, there is a smell of gas and sometimes on the highway I would get a bad odor smell ( rotten egg) . It used to happen before I did all the work to it but I thought it was because I the big exhaust leak I had on the manifold. well I got it fixed and its still there, any one have ideas or has had this happen to there car? thank you

your battery is bad.

and maybe it is the alternator voltage regulator failed too which is cooking the battery to begin with.

touch the battery after a drive, it is hot and smells like rotten eggs.

I did just change the alternator, I did a battery test at my shop and it passed, I was thinking maybe bad cat?

The alternator you just put in there no good, take it out, get a good one in there, not from autozone, etc.

did you smell the battery and touch it for hotness to verify my cause.

could be cats too.

yes but I did an alternator starter and battery test, everything passed, my voltage stays above 12v even with my system and hids at night

edit tomorrow I will try and touch the battery and see if thats the case, the odor usually comes if Im on the highway and I step on it

if it not smell at battery, and you eliminate a overcharge of say like 15.5v or higher to like 18v, then yeah cats, or cheap gas.
