Maximum tire size

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

Got a question for ya: I have a stock height '98 Outback and I am putting on 16" WRX wheels on it. What's the max tire size I can go without rubbing the hell out of it?

Thanks,

HTiLewis

It will depend on the aspect ratio. 215/60/16 should be fine. If you go to TireRack, and plug in your car, they will list all the available sizes.

205/55/16 works on my '97 Impreza with WRX rims (6-1/2" width). 205/55/16 with RS rims (7" width) works but is very tight on the rear; I wound up adding a 5mm shim to be safe.
