It had erratic fuel pressure so I replaced the pump. It starts and runs better now but not all the time. Has died a few times and won't start for a while. This is a carburated model. Any ideas?

Reading about the Fuel pump issue makes me think that it might not be Receiving a Permanent 12V source and it might be stop running When the Power source Fails.

 

Have you checked the Wiring / Relays?

I had thought of that but haven't checked yet. I'll try that

Could it be ignition related?

I have tested for spark a couple of times and it seems good but I'll check again. When it runs the timing seems fine.
