February 2, 201214 yr I am doing a 2.2T swap into my 85 Brat. I am also putting in a 5 speed jdm transmission. Do I just hook up the vss from the tranny to the ecu????? Pin B58, pin 11 says vss. Does it just connect to the transmission?????
February 2, 201214 yr No. On a Brat the VSS is driven off the back of the speedo head. Its got its own wire and spade terminal. I think the wire is yellow. Connect that wire to the 2.2 Ecm pin you mentioned.

February 2, 201214 yr If your transmission is newer, it will have an electronic sensor in it, that can be used for the VSS on the ECU. But, if you want the stock brat speedo to work, you will need to use a cable (a cable will thread right in place of the sensor if you have a newer trans). And use the reed switch in the gauge for the VSS.
