March 20, 200422 yr 1987 gl wagon 5 speed D/R it idles about 2000 rpm and when warm it does not come down,still 2000 rpm.can somebody tell me how to adjust the carb??? i would like to also adjust the low idle also????thanks in advance for the help from this board gives.Bill:wave:
March 20, 200422 yr check choke kickdown, vac leaks, and gaskets pour mmo down carb to fog system clean use carb cleaner in tank, pour in at 1/2 tank or less, repeat 2x adjust idle speed with a LONG slot type cabinet screwdriver, it sticks out behind the ps pump, you'll know when you find it
March 20, 200422 yr Author i'll try the MMO and carb cleaner,is the screw that faces the spare tire???? i tried adjusting it and it did nothing.choke is working okay.Bill

March 21, 200422 yr check the slack in your throttle cable, if it is too tight it will cause your car not to idle correctly.
