Hi,

a friend owns an Outback at 171,000 miles...someone recently told him that he can get a specialized airfilter sytem that will boost horsepower while reducing gas mileage ....maybe he was referring to the Cone Air Filter stuff?? He has tried to find one specific to Subaru but all in vain, all other makes apart from Subaru are available. He asked me if anyone here has knowledge ofbwhere to get one or if anyones here makes one. Thanks!

tell him to search for either a CAI (cold air intake) or 'short ram' intake. boxer4racing probably has some legacy/outback specific stuff.

He won't see any difference except in noise under the hood.
