Im having problems trying to find out why the check engine light is staying on. Motor Runs great and the check engine light stays solid on never flashes any body have any ideas this is on a 1993 Subaru loyale 1.8

I finally got it to code and it's telling me that there is a problem with the egr temp sensor can any one tell me were a outs the sensor is located at

Needed to give more info about problem

It is in back of the oil dipstick. Remove the plastic cover and you will see two small soleniods with two wire connctors. They suppose to have a vent on the side. Check the resistance. As far as I remember it suppose to be 36 Kohm.

 

Search the forum for EGR solenoid and you will find a lot of information. This is a very common promblem with EA82 engine.

Are you sure it's the EGR temp sensor and not the EGR solenoid code?

 

That's a california only sensor.... it will be in the EGR passage - so likely on the manifold near the EGR valve or pipe.
