So I"m in the process of doing a HG job on an 07 OBW 2.5 sohc. When I took the heads to the machine shop to be resurfaced they said that one was .002 thicker than the minimum thickness and one was at the min. thickness. Both heads need at least .004 taken off which would put me below the min. Does anyone know if you can get away with being .005 below the min thickness? Does anyone have a set of 07 heads? Thanks

Buy a straight edge and use techniques by the post written by General Disorder. You should be able to take a bare minimum off while still keeping them flat and within tolerance in this situation.
