80's bumper rubber

Featured Replies

Hello all!

I'm thinking of /hoping to bring home an '88 hatch this weekend (first one... I'm a total newbie)

It's missing part of the bumper rubber, and the metal underneath is dangerously rusty (as in if someone were to walk into it, it'd cut them up pretty bad)

Was wondering, what grade/type of rubber is that bumper made of? I wouldn't necessarily need the exact replacement piece if I could find a chunk of similar grade of rubber and fit it on there.

For me it's just a safety issue for anyone walking around the back of the car.

You could probably get the correct rubber corner from someone on here. Check the For Sale section or post a Wanted ad for one. I actually could have gotten you one from an '82 Hatch in Wadsworth, IL. But the car has been crushed now, boo!

Welcome to the board and lets see some more pics of that hatch! Amazing that its not rotted out being a IL car.
