I am looking for a some places where I can buy tires for my 08 WRX. I have checked out a few recommended websites, Tire Rack, Tire Easy and Tread Depot. I know about Discount Tire, Pep Boys and Les Schwab but the tires here are more then the other tire websites. I wanted to check out some local tire shops in LA that can get me a better deal then these websites can. I have a few tires in mind that I want to get. The size I am looking for is 225/45/17. Some of the tires that I have in mind is Kumho Ecsta ASX, Kuhmo Ecsta AST, Toyo Proxes 4.

Did you try discount tire direct? Its kindof a best of the internet and store pricing combined. Tire Rack is fine too. Did you try Sams Club or Costco?

you might check Yelp or other review/rating services for an idea if your local shop is OK - but I have been extremely well served by Discount Tire locally.

 

I also have done biz with TireRack but not any of their recommended installers. I bought rims with tires (ECSTA ASX) mounted and installed them on my 06 WRX wagon myself.

 

I have also had Discount match TR prices (adjusting for shipping and taxes of course.)
