August 26, 201213 yr Without going out and looking at mine ( it's only 40 degrees here ) it should be in the normal spot just in front of the the drivers side rear axle.
August 26, 201213 yr I do not have a turbo car so it may be different but all of my gen 2 cars have always had them just in front of the rear passenger side wheel on a triangular plate held up by three 10 mm self tapping bolt/screws.
August 27, 201213 yr Give me about 10 minutes and I will go out and look at mine. It's actually warm enough to go out this morning and look. Mykeys Toys is correct that the pump is on a plate in front of the passenger rear axle. I don't know why I thought it was drivers side I had to upgrade the pump on my Brat when I installed FI a couple of years ago and have changed several over the almost 30 years I've owned Subarus. August 27, 201213 yr Right below the fuel filler door, infront of the rear tire. Its on top of a plate, you'll see hose in/hose out and an electrical connector. cant miss it
August 29, 201213 yr Are you looking for the pump on a running ( or formally running ) car or one that you just picked up non running? If it is the latter it may have been removed, if the former you are just not looking hard enough. I can see mine through the wheel well on the triangle shaped plate in front of the passenger side rear axle even with the front corner of the wheel well. The only other possibility is someone pulled out the original and moved it elsewhere and in that case you will just have to follow the fuel line to find it. The only readily accessible places to put an aftermarket pump is in the original spot or in the engine compartment.
August 29, 201213 yr Author The car ran fine, was running on empty, will run pouring gas in car, cant here fuel pump running no gas to new gas filter , thought id check out pump finding all the fuel lines from tank my eyeballs are not seeing pump
August 30, 201213 yr I will try to get a pic for you this afternoon. Unless it has been replaced It will be right there.. I usually don't even jack the car up because I can reach under with everything I need.
August 30, 201213 yr Author thanks, being a turbo and a car ahead of its time i was hoping it was not in the tank
September 2, 201213 yr Author Well the new owner found the pump after 5 minutes of looking, near right center of car off driveline sitting flat on plate had to feel for it cause it was not visible
September 2, 201213 yr I am glad you found it. I am sorry I didn't get to the pics I was going to take for you.
