Yeah funny how I pinpoint the problem and all I get is flak! You're welcome...

 

The wire also has a shield around it. The shield can short to the center conductor, so it's a good idea to also check from the wire to ground to see if it's shorted.

Am I giving you flak? No. It's not as if this is some sort of personal attack or anything. We just disagree on a couple of details. And, BTW, when we are disguising grounding the shield wire at the knock sensor end, I don't consider the engine block a ground. I would have grounded the wire to the chassis, which is where the other end is also grounded to.

FWIW, I grew up in Wichita, KS. They don't sell hay there... it's a city. You'd have to get out of town to say Colwich or Andale to find any hay.
