16 rims from Outback fit Impreza?

Featured Replies

Will '16 rims from a 2004 Outback fit a 2009 Impreza?

I'm having a hard time finding the specs on the 2004.

I believe the Impreza is 16 x 6.5, 5x100 with a 55mm offset.

Assume you mean an '04 Legacy Outback?

Yes, they will fit. The offset will be a few mm different (outback offset is 48?), but I don't think that should be a worry.

There is a good thread of all the wheel sizes, let me see if I can find it.

yes.

any 16" or 17" legacy/outback/forester rim ever made will fit your Impreza.

Mostly true (actually true since I'm talking about RS rims)experience with my '97 Impreza. I had bought a beautiful set of RS 6 spoke rims and mounted them with 205/55R16 Conti DWS tires and then found the tires would not clear the struts on the rear. Turns out the tires rubbed on the struts. Odd since I didn't have any trouble with the WRX rims I used with Hankook winter tires of the same size. Turns out the RS rims are 7" width as opposed to the WRX 6-1/2" rims. I got around this issue by installing a 5mm spacer on the rear hubs. Not a lot of clearance but enough to be able to use my rims.

Most of the rims you are talking about are either 6" or 6-1/2" width so you should be okay.
