February 9, 201313 yr I'd like to convert the brakes on my '05 Legacy i to the GT brakes because of the added stopping power and I do a lot of driving on Washington back roads, up and down mountains. Any suggestions, or if I'd be spinning my wheels so to speak please fill me in. Thanks.
February 9, 201313 yr It may be helpful but often, a better solution to upgrading brakes, is to run stickier tires. Tires stop the car, brakes just stop the wheels from turning. a few folks have found a master cylinder brace to be helpful. Mostly to reduce any 'spongy' feeling. also, what pads do you use? There are vast differences in pad performance. OEM is good stuff, but, for similar money, you could get performance pads like StopTech Street Performance.
February 10, 201313 yr EBC Red Stuff. Nuff said. Dunno if there are any big differences in brakes between the new models, but like Texan said, better pads and rotors make a difference, braided stainless brake lines can help with pedal feel as well.
