Recently changed a rear wheel bearing, got sick of driving with ear-plugs.

 

Outer was fine, inner had blackened balls and black grease.

Mine was the same way, half of it was fine, half of it looked like that. Weird how that happens.

The whole unit bearing thing makes it a breeze, though.
