April 10, 201312 yr 88 RX car had an issue with the wheel lock so my intentions where to gut the lock and reassemble, however I only managed to break the ignition switch, BUT the lock is out so mission accomplished. For lack of better reason I plan to wire a kill switch and momentary switch to turn it on and start. (Because racecar) now my question is these wires still attached: The two black wires at the top, what are they for and do I need them? Thanks Edited April 10, 201312 yr by rpholz
April 11, 201312 yr Author also, another quick question. on the plug there are 5 pins. I've identified power, ACC, ON and 2 starts? the XT FSM shows a 4 pin plug while the RX is 5 pin, any idea the purpose of the 2nd start pin?
April 11, 201312 yr I am not sure about that, I think it might have to do with the turbo. I don't know much about the turbo motors or their wiring.
April 11, 201312 yr The ECU wants to know when the car is starting so it sends 12V to the ECU AND down to the starter solenoid hence the 2 leads. Granted, I'm not sure why the ECU wants to know when the starting (maybe injector pulse modification or sensor bypass).. but meh.. lol
