I want to mount a winch on my brat but the stock front bumper wouldnt handle it at all. The brush guard bumpers are just not available here in Denver because Brats are quite rare in these parts.

 

Has anyone tried retrofitting a "beefier" front bumper onto a brat? I did a retrofit of a 79 Chevy LUV rear bumper (with hitchball) onto my brat with good success........but I havent seen any front bumpers that are good retrofit options yet.

greggbrat, I picked up that bumper for you at the wrecking yard, it might be able to fit a small winch on it. I will get pics of it soon.

I have since removed the lights to clear the winch but the construction is the same. It has also been done in bedliner.

I havent heard back from the person who wanted the 15" pug steel wheels........I will give him one more day to respond. As for the bumper......I am a bit surprised you already picked it up.......I definitely want to see photos before I might purchase the bumper.

No prob. Had to pick up soon cause the wrecking yard was moving out Fast. I will get photos ASAP, I might even buy one of those disposable cameras today.

I build them 2 ways.

1) with a 2" recever and a winch mount that slips into it.

2) with a winch mounting plate built into the bumper.

U can order either style with or without a brush guard on it.

I like the recever style better, then your'e winch is not out in the weather all the time, and it's not out there for somone to steal

How much for the two different bumpers you make?

Well, my bumpers start out @ $99. The price varies depending on what options U want to add on. (brush guard, -D- rings, recever, ect.)
