May 6, 201312 yr Can't find EJ oil pump bolts and the pump is removed from my spare engines, with no bolts to be found. I think they're all the same length (unlikely older gen oil pump bolts? Same as the water pump bolts? Same length anyway? Any attention to material...stainless or no...if i get them from a hardware store? Edited May 6, 201312 yr by grossgary
May 6, 201312 yr dont use stai nless in aluminum. go to the hardware store. thread is m6x1.00. get one that is the right length.
May 7, 201312 yr Author great thanks, i thought i heard something like that before but wasn't sure which way.....to use or not...
May 7, 201312 yr Stainless + aluminum = bad. Hardware store stainless is usually pretty soft anyway. I save those size bolts whenever I take something apart at the junkyard, I have dozens of them floating around in my toolbox.
May 7, 201312 yr Gary, If need be I can likely pull a pump and send you the bolts late tomorrow. I'm sure I have some removed but no idea of where.
May 7, 201312 yr Author thanks guys. i found some in my box of fasteners...i think they're even EJ oil pump bolts, perfect length, looks the same, etc. Edited May 7, 201312 yr by grossgary
