EA82T Mystery Sensor

Featured Replies

While poking around my engine bay, I found that the wiring to this sensor was severed.  Problem is, I can't figure out what sensor it is.  Going to be fixing it soon, just need to run to the junkyard to grab a connector off another EA82T and splice it in.

It's the sensor circled in red.  Behind intake, next to bell housing.  Knock sensor?

Thanks.  I was looking at a GL-10 at the local junkyard, which also had an EA82T, and it didn't seem to have this sensor.  Seems odd that different generations came with/without a knock sensor.

the knock sensor is more slim... but also is the only electronic cable that belong to that part of the engine....

85/86 flapper MAF type use a 2 wire Knock sensor.  Round connector

87+ Hotwire MAF uses a one wire. slim round connector

The CTS is in that area too.  square 2 wire
