June 6, 201312 yr Rule NUMBER ONE: always use subaru oem intake gaskets. I do not always follow this rule. how are you preparing and installing them? perhaps an intake mani that is out of square with the head or vice versa? in my earlier motor pullings i would leave the intake in the car and install new gaskets. none have leaked that i know of. ive since quit doing that. You seem to know what youre doing from the posts ive read so id say theres something goin on here.

So really as far as prep I clean like my other equipment. I clean the surfaces and apply high-tack to the removeable side and dry. Install. Maybe the high tack is causing the gasket to squeeze?
June 7, 201312 yr I personally never use anything on my intake gaskets, I put them on dry and I've never had a problem, I'm using a hygrade gasket in my gl right now and I haven't had any problems

June 7, 201312 yr If that doesn't work maybe a resurface of the cab base plate and the intake mating surface would be a good idea, or at least check for trueness
