June 9, 201312 yr So i was driving the loyale today and the oil pressur is just under 45 psi most of the time but out of nowhere it jumped to almost 85 psi while idle and driving.... what would cause this there is not to much oil in the car and its runng 10-30 weight. any input would be great.
June 10, 201312 yr is 85 psi the top of the scale? (as in, did the gauge just pin itself to the high end of the gauge?)
June 10, 201312 yr Author Yeah it just goes right to the top when you start the car, there is no hesitation.
June 10, 201312 yr The wire to the sender is grounding-out somewhere. My guess would be somewhere between where it leaves the engine loom (near the t-stat) and heads down the front of the engine to the sender.
