97 Ej25 DOHC camshaft cap torque

Featured Replies

I was just wondering I swore I saw something where they were listed in inch pounds but I'm seeing here 7.2 & 14.5 FT.lbs maybe I used a inch pound wrench.. Do you guys use a beam or clicker for this area? I ended up before using a inch pound wrench since my lowest only goes to 10.

I've used both.  CLickers I don't think are that accurate at such low ratings.

And it was after I had snapped 2 bolts not realizing there were 2 different torque settings.  IIR one for the 4 beefier bolts and one for the 2 closest the cam seal.

On the plus side I did get me a spiffy new set of small EZouts!  Still sucked!

seems like I would be better off with the inch pound wrench again.. (it walked off) it's a 20-200 in.lb range suck having to buy another but oh well..

I downloaded the FSM from a link from a member and I had notes in the garage on the head bolt torque sequence and lbs and cam cap specs..

I haven't done one recently enough to remember what they are.
