July 21, 201312 yr Is it even possible to replace with aftermarket radio ? considering the surrounding panel is also used for HVAC controls..I just wish i could listen to all the music that's on my MP3 in my new Scoob.. If not, guess i'll have to burn a few CDs then..
July 21, 201312 yr I found the kit on Crutchfield before. I haven't used it yet but I have seen a few that had it done and it turned out ok.
July 22, 201312 yr nipper has a thread on this subject, there is a mod that will give you room to put a radio in without trashing your hvac controls. it does involve cutting the circuit board and doing some fine soldering
July 22, 201312 yr Author For now i just burnt a few CDs but will probably go the FM transmitter route..wanna keep Silvia as stock as possible anyway..Thanks though.
July 22, 201312 yr I have seen replacement surrounds that let you mount DIN radios, they look fine. If you go FM transmitter, consider using an in-line type. More time to install but better sound quality. You could also look for someone selling a newer OE radio, they added an aux in maybe in 07? Lastly, I thought someone had made an adapter that would plug into the SAT or changer input or something to give you an AUX in without hacking wires/etc.. Edited July 22, 201312 yr by nickb21
July 22, 201312 yr Ah: http://ae64.com/Legacy_Gen4_HU_Transplant.htm Well that's annoying that you can't "easily" add an AUX to 05-06 cars. Hope the info helps, good luck!
