I have an 1987 subaru gl wagon and wondered if i can convert my chock from electric to manual because having issues finding parts for my carb ? Thanks

they make universal cables that will turn a choke to manual.  it will be cable driven and have a knob in the cab.

I'm guessing you have a Hitachi carb in.

 

If you change it to a Weber, I've heard Weber parts are more readily available.

I put a universal kit on my hitachi. It took a little modification but nothing to hard, it's worth it to get rid of that stupid electric choke hitachi uses that almost never works right.

I would like to know if anyone has  detailed instructions for converting the electric choke to manual ?  Pictures would be nice if availible ? Not to mechanicly inclined ? Thanks

Your probably not going to find a pic tutorial, it's a fairly simple conversion. If you get a conversion kit, it should give you instructions, maybe try YouTube all choke conversions are very similar.
