Do they make trailer hitches for 2006 Impreza Outbacks?

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a trailer hitch for my 2006 Impreza Outback (I want to use a bike carrier).  I just got a Class II trailer hitch with a 1 1/4" receiver from a tractor supply store and when I took this to my mechanic to get it installed, they told me this was for an Impreza and not an Impreza Outback.  So do they make trailer hitches for 2006 Impreza Outbacks?

Thanks for anyone's help.

Chck with u-haul. The impreza and outback sport are the same frame. For WRX you may have to notch the rear valence. I haven'tinstalled any that new, but i have installed 2002-2004 impreza, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen legacy

Thanks for your quick reply.  So to clarify I have a 2006 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Outback Sport.  Not sure if that information would alter your reply.

Does U-Haul install/sell trailer hitches?

U-haul is the world's largest retailer of hitches and accessories. Any part number they will have is the MFG's part number, and you can cross reference that with other vendors if there are better prices. U-haul does install hitches with lifetime warranty. I was the hitch guy at u-haul for a little while.

Uhaul sells and installs (I assume only some locations install). Check their website, I believe they have free shipping for hitches.

So it turns out that it wasn't the trailer hitch that wasn't right, it was my mechanic!  I went to a different mechanic and he popped it right on.  Go figure.  Thanks again for everyone who responded.  I appreciate it.
