got a new 88 gl wagon 5 speed hi/low wont start thinking timing belt

wont start but has spark and fuel ran out of coolent but i thing head gaskets are ok got shut off as soon as it got hot and now it turns over fine but doesent seem to have compression like its out of time

Pull the distributor cap and make sure that one, the rotor screw hasn't fallen out. And two, does the rotor turn when you crank the motor. If it doesn't, the timing belt is broken.

I'm sure you have found the 'ea82 timing belt procedure' by. now. If not, search it and knowledge will be yours. Don't forget about the videos as well. Good luck

Yea motor cranks just Dont think the timings right I checked the belts and I think it skipped a tooth

Checked timing and it looks good cleaned all the plugs and checked under the cap its all good
