BRAT Rear "Headrests"

Featured Replies

Can someone show me a picture of how the headrest rails are mounted to the rear (top and bottom)? I have an 86 BRAT into which I'm trying to retro fit jump seats. The 86's didn't come with jump seats.  I think I might be missing a bracket or something. THANKS!

likely the brackets were eliminated from the 86...you will likely need to fabricate mounting points. there is a tab at the top and a mounting point neat the bottom of the front bed wall.

In looking at the headrests in a GEN 1 I have, there is a bracket welded above the window and in the lower forward bed. Upon closer inspection of the GEN 2, I can see what appear to be markings for the location of placement of the bracket. I was just hoping to get a closeup picture so I can be sure I have it right.

Ah, that's perfect. Thanks man. This answers just about everything I needed to know! Now, if I only knew how to weld . . .

My first 86 had the brackets pop riveted to the body.

Hummm,

I'm just doing this for the looks. It's doesn't have to work past the basics, not that head rests do much. My head lands far above the highest selectable level. But, I do want it to look nice. We'll see.....
