I have found a 5 speed duel range, out of a 85 gl wagon, can i change the gear ratio to what my car is-4-11 I think,or is it better to get the rear end also. I would like the lowest ratio I can get.

It is possible to change the ratio in a 5 speed dr box to 4.11 but it is alot of work and mismatching parts.My comparison changing the rear diff ratio is 10 bolts that are fairly easily accessed.

And , this answer has been given way to many times. That is a simple search question. The FAQs at the top of this forum and others lead to a ton of information. I only say this because it is true.

other that it is slightly hard to search for 4.11 or any other 3 character term.
