Anyone heard of Lobro Front axles?

Featured Replies

Just bought a 2nd generation 1988 Subaru GL hatchback dual transmission 4 speed manual with the EA81 engine. The person I bought it from had the receipts for some work they had done. I called the mechanic shop about a few questions I had that weren't clear on the receipt to get a better idea of what's in my car.

The mechanic said he replaced both front axles with used Lobro axles when the others were going bad. He said they are the best, better than what the car originally came with, and that they stopped making Lobro axles about 10 years ago so you can't even get them anymore. Can anyone confirm this? I did a search on the forum and nothing came up.

Thanks!

Quick google search comes up as an OE german manufacturer.......

Not heard of them making a subaru axle though.....

Sounds odd but plausible.

Yes, some Porche dealerships in the 70s used them as replacements. I worked at Bozzani Porche-Audi back then.

Here's a link to Lobro catalog:
