Brake clunk sound when braking?

Featured Replies

Hi, and now another problem :) So when I drive and brake there is a "clunk" sound that can be heard and felt, it will do it once but not again until you drive for a while. When I push the brakes slowly it doesn't happen but when I break like normal it will happen... Any ideas? Thanks

Most likely front brake pads w/slightly excessive fore and aft clearance.

Will it clunk again right away w/going in reverse and applying the brakes briskly?

If this is what it is.it is not a safety problem, just annoying.

I'm not sure if it will do it in reverse, just started today, what ever is happening it sounds like somthing is hitting the bottom of the floor board.

Probably something different then.

Loose pads will clunk from day 1.
