August 14, 201411 yr This topic has seem to come up a good bit, so I thought I would make a quick location video while I fix mine. You need to find the connector above/behind the fuse box and disconnect it. It is blue/green. One wire. Very easy to get to. Should take maybe 5 minutes.
August 14, 201411 yr There is a microswitch built into the odometer, which trips the EGR lite every 30 or 60,000 mi, as a service reminder to have the EGR inspected. It is only tripped by mileage, does not indicate a problem.
August 14, 201411 yr Technically you are supposed to swap the plug into the other connector shown.....in this case the other green. you flip flop that connector every 60k miles........oh yeah and you are supposed to clean the EGR valve at that time too......that's kinda the whole point....... Leaving it disconnected is fine too.....I think like that it won't ever turn on again Awesome Music..........Heart O' Glass..........was a nice treat with my mornin JOe! August 14, 201411 yr Author Yeah I just wanted to get the visual out there for people. Let the more knowledgeable people fill the the importances. It was on radio. 95.7 or 96.5 I dont remember which one.
August 14, 201411 yr "Leaving it disconnected is fine too.....I think like that it won't ever turn on again" Maybe that is why the EGR light never worked in my GL... Edited August 14, 201411 yr by Flowmastered87GL
