September 28, 201411 yr Ran great one day, parked overnight now it wont start. Not getting spark out of coil. Tested coil, is ok, so i put in a new ignition module, still nothing. One odd thing is after cranking i can turn the key almost to the off position and i get spark for a second, as the motor turns over on its own. It seems to me this would be the ignition switch, but is there any other tests i can do before going and buying parts
September 29, 201411 yr test for voltage to the coil with ignition "on" and during cranking. If no volatge...it's the switch Confirm by jumper 12v to coil positive then crank it. if it then starts, coil, disty, etc.....are OK......Switch is bad.
September 29, 201411 yr Put a test light on coil -. It should light up and pulse w/cranking. Light but no pulse = bad module No light on coil - or + = power problem No light on coil -,but,lights on coil + = bad coil
