Limited slip into a 94 legacy

Featured Replies

Hey guys I'm trying to get a parts list for making my 94 legacy off-road worthy. So I'm pretty sure I can swap in a limited slip carrier correct? I Have 0 experience with awd. What am I gonna need for parts and how's it gonna be done? I just don't want to get into a d/r swap. But hell what's your guys opinion?

yes, find a limited slip out of a turbo legacy, wrx, 2.5rs, random other cars, and swap away!

pay attention to gear ratio obviosly, you need to match your current. and also male/female axle stubs. those are easy to swap, but make note. good luck!

i have a 91 sport sedan lsd in my 91 legacy wagon

There should be an article in the Ultimate Repair Manual.  Try and source an LSD from an early WRX.

WRX diff would require him to use 95+ style rear axles.  Also to swap input flange. And perhaps swap ring/pinion for gear ratio.....

I think a VLSD from first gen Legacy turbo woudl be the best direct fit.  3.9 ratio, male stubs, correct flange.

Literally nothing to modify.....just install.

Yah gloyale that sounds like the best. I'm driving through Your neck of oregon on the way through to Washington in a few weeks I'll trade fresh organic fruit for a lsd if you have one. I live on an organic fruit and vegi farm. Apples are in season, and Asian pears.
