May 17, 200421 yr i read that water injection wouldn't help a carbed car accept for those with really high compression. but...... this guy where i work put two water injecton systems on two cars friday and was blown away by the results of both. the first was a store bought kit wich went on a carbed buick regal from the 80's. the guy who sold the kit said it would help ANY car to get more power and better mileage. the second he put on his own truck, a fuel injected chevy from the 90's. this set up he built with a valve he had and $14 worth of hardwear store stuff. both cars got a very noticable increase in power. if it could help a regal, why not an ea81? turbo cars are supposed to get the most benefit from this. anybody tried it on a turbo subaru?
May 17, 200421 yr You might notice something - but more because the damn coolant runs through the manifold, and water injection would cool the incoming charge. Probably get about the same gain from removing the coolant from the manifold and building the manifold from carbon fiber. Some people rig them to spray on the intercooler in a turbo..... GD
