December 8, 201411 yr I replaced the distributor with a factory rebuild Cardone distributor, not getting spark. I was getting spark from the distributor but the bushing where worn and wasn't getting consistent spark, thought maybe ignition module might be bad in rebuilt distributor, I tried using the original module in the rebuild distributor, didn't help. I tested the coil, tested OK. Replaced the ignition switch. Any ideas?
December 8, 201411 yr Does a test light hooked between battery negative and coil negative flash w/cranking? Light up at all?
December 8, 201411 yr I just got a Cardone distributor as well. The drive gear was 180 degrees backwards (the drive gear dimple didnt line up with the exciter or the dimple in the distributor casing) causing me to have issues. I think this throws the timing off inside the distrubutor itsself. I fixed it and my trucks runs, so it obviously does something. Also check the air gap, mine was off there as well. Im not too impressed with Cardone at this point.
