I have a 92 L-series with a replacement 2nd hand engine after a crack in the heater allowed coolant out of the cooling system and the heads warped on my last engine.

 

Does anyone in Australia rebuild these engines? If so what would it cost?

 

Is there another way to deal with this?

 

I really like the car and don't really want to upgrade to a Forester.

It is an easy fix. Find someone close to you that likes old Subies and buy them a few beers. A good day or two of work and your on the road again.
