December 18, 201411 yr I have a 2002 Forester. While changing the PCV on the engine, the plasctic tee that goes into the engine was super brittle and cracked off. The dealer says that there is no replacement. Any ideas? Thanks for your time and effort. Ray
December 18, 201411 yr You need Subaru part #11821AA450 ($14). How do I know? I had exactly the same experience as you. The plastic tee broke when I was trying to get to the PCV. I epoxy-glued the old tee together (so that I could drive to the dealer). 9-months and 17,000km later, I still haven't installed the new tee. My epoxy work seems to be holding just fine.
December 18, 201411 yr Author Thanks Fanatic 1, but I don't think that's the tee I need. On the tee you bought, the hose that connects the tee to the engine connects to a second tee which is threaded into the manifold. That's the tee I need. Thanks. Ray
December 20, 201411 yr So you need the dummy PCV nipple that threads into the manifold? You should be able to get that from a dealer. But if not, try your local Napa parts store. They often have an assortment of brass nipple fittings and should be able to match it pretty close.
December 20, 201411 yr Any auto parts store will have a rack with various plastic fittings for under the hood applications. They will be generic, and often are listed under the "Help" brand. If you look at the various offerings, many times you will be able to find something that will work, tho may be a slightly different design than OEM.
December 20, 201411 yr Author Gentlemen, you've all been very kind and helpful. I just returned from the auto parts and was able fix the problem with a generic nipple. Once again, thanks for the advice. Ray
