Hi everyone..I'm new here. I signed up a while ago, but never had to post b/c I always found info I needed by searching. Anyway, the girlfriend has a '98 legacy w/ the 2.5. I'm doing the infamous subaru leak chase, and just got the oil pan back on. Question is, the RTV I used for a gasket says it sets in 1 hr. and fully cures in 24 hrs. When can I put oil in it/ start it/ drive it? Can I do this now (an hour passed) or do I wait 24? Thanks in advance, --Jim

I used RTV in a diff and used it within an hour w/o any problems.

Thanks Glenn...but an oil pan will get a lil' bit hotter then a diff. --Jim

I'd wait the 24 but thats just me.
