February 11, 201511 yr I was replacing the driver side strut and I guess I did not know it kinda slid out enough to make a puddle.. However I put the strut on and I can't get the axle back in the transmission I need help!
February 12, 201511 yr They don't normally just "slide" out. Usually need some oomph to pop the circlip out. I would pull the axle the rest of the way out and make sure the circlip is still on the end. Spin the circlip around so the opening is pointing down, then slide the axle in, line up the splines and give it a good shove.
February 12, 201511 yr they take a little grunt to shove past the circlip. like he said - odd to randomly came out without any effort, was the strut/etc seeing some good tugging/pulling/working?
February 12, 201511 yr Author Got it back in had to take the axle nut off and push it back in that way.. funny thing was all the pushing on it did nothing but as soon as i took the axle nut off and pushed the axle in from the outer CV axle it went back in with no issue.
