Apparently I need a fuel tank sending unit.  I was told the lower portion of the plastic plug assembly through the tank cover is fried and melted and I need to find the whole assembly to fix it (pump, float gauge, tank cover, etc)  Any thoughts on this?  Is this necessary?  Anyone know where I can find one?  I wish it weren't 0 degrees out, a weekend, and two feet of snow on the ground or I'd hit a junk yard.

Well the good thing is these are inside the car, either under the rear seat or just behind it in the cargo area.

Pretty easy to pull.

 

www.car-part.com would be another option for a good used one.
